RabbieBurns Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I cant get any of my Mac clients to update from the SMB share. I have just built a new 2012R2 Windows server, installed the latest Sophos console, and manually browsed to the smb share to run the mac installer. I have entered various smb:// paths in the autoupdate field, and the same credentials I used to manually mount the share and install the software from, but I cannot get any of the clients to autoupdate from the share. I don't really want to have to set them to update from the Internet as this kind of defeats the purpose of having the Enterprise Console. Am I missing something stupid about Autoupdating from SMB?
neb1355 Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I've been having similar problems getting Yosemite clients to auto-update as well. Would be interesting to hear if any others have managed to get Sophos Enterprise to play nicely with Mac clients?
3s-gtech Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Ours do update automatically from SMB, but we found DFS paths to be an issue in the update settings so we stuck to direct links. That's on 10.6 and 10.10 clients.

3s-gtech Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 The account used has read/write - not sure if that's entirely necessary but it's just our Sophos network account anyway. Path used is: SMB://servername/share/updates/CIDs/S000/ESCOSX 1
