JRowley Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) I'm in two minds about this, firstly I think a system like this would be incredibly useful so I welcome it. However the implementation seems a little wonky to me, just how many of these things am I going to end up with? Where am I going to put them all? A better way would have been an app which allows you to do a rapid order at the press of a button, rather than having to keep a draw full of these things in the future. Edit: As usual the BBC reports half a story, the quick button is just one aspect of Dash, another is a handheld scanner which you can use to scan barcodes and allows you to build an order via an app or the website. elsiegee40 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Personally, I think it's a good way to end up paying too much. I do buy some stuff regularly from Amazon, but change seller if it's cheaper from someone else. I definitely don't want little buttons all over the house. Gimmick.

It's actually much more than this, the BBC just chose to omit the interesting parts - https://fresh.amazon.com/dash/ Edit: If you go through to the American store you can see that it's extremely extensive and involves purchasing from local stores and restaurants. sted Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 now if you pushed the button and it added it to my need to buy list and i could alter it then ok but lets say i ran out of detergent one day then softener the day after thats 2 lots of delivery charges where if i pushed it as a reminder i might notice that myself and make it a better order than one thing

Problem solved! apart from having all sorts of random junk show up at random times you would spend as much time answering the door for single items as you would going home via asda (other supermarkets are avaliable) on your way home

Ben Well, from what I gather you can have a button for specific products if you want but that's an additional thing to the wand which is the primary device.

Tesco certainly has a bar code scanner in their app. Everyone in the family could have it on their mobile and add stuff to my shopping list, but the reality is that I do it... and I suspect evn with an Amazon thingy that I would still do it. 1
