I have a number of customers who use Smoothwall but are not confident on making changes and I am unsure what is the best way to allow sites.

We often deploy software at clients when I am working and more times than not it works but some have their firewall, Smoothwall in particular that blocks access. What we need to do is put a rule in that say from server IP to said IP addresses allow and do not filter, can any Smoothwall users advise me the best way to achieve this so I can pass information onto them.

Cheers

You can put servers IP address into the exceptions and that will allow the server to bypass smoothwall.

Guardian -> Web filter -> exceptions . Change proxy port on server to 801. Server will then bypass smoothwall.
