Hi All,

I've got a problem with the cursor on a MacBook pro (osx 10.9.5), the issue is that the cursor will develop a "shadow" following it and sometimes the cursor will get progressively faint and then eventually disappear and the only solution I can find is to restart the mac, which let's be honest isn't a solution. I don't seem to be the only one having this issue, as seen in the following forums, but as yet I haven't found anyone that's posted a solution, Anyone on here had the same problem and found a solution?

Thanks in advance

Hi mike, we have a rather large Mac infrastructure and I have seen this but only on 1 users MacBook, same symptoms as you describe and the same as the linked threads.

We spent a lot of time trying to get to the bottom of it, took videos when the screen was going crazy, sent the MacBook off to an authorised repair centre for diagnostics after doing all the usual in house checks and rebuilding the OS, no one could pinpoint what was causing the issue.

We had suspicions that it was related to overheating and fans not kicking in quick enough to cool the gpu. As it only effects one user a restart and a flush of the PRAM usually does the trick. Luckily it's not effected any of the other staff or student MacBooks. We gave up in the end trying to find a solution life's too short [emoji4]
