Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me please, I am wanting to make a marksheet in SIMS for calculating att 8/pro 8 . I was wondering if anyone maybe has a template set up for me to import so I can change where required once imported. I would really appreciate any help as a starting point.

Thank you in advance

This is a complex calculation. The school report which was delivered in autumn does this calculation for you.

Thank you for your response, do you have any further information/ or even a template i could possibly use please. Much appreciated. Thank you

How do I access this school report?

EDIT - Never mind, I just found it in the top level of the Reports menu. It's been staring me in the face all this time.

With the school report you will need to map your Aspects to ours (if you've used your own)

Where do I go to do that? I've never done mapping before.

I've done one but you have to take any progress 8 calculations with a huge grain of salt at this point in time.

It's based off David Potts example, linked above, but I've added an aspect for holding the expected attainment 8 for the student (pre calculated in excel and imported) You can then work out invidivual progress 8 and then use summary rows to get the overall.

If you set it up correctly you can then play with in Discover - this was the real eye opener for our SLT!

While the calculations are complex, I can't understand why they would be so complex that you couldn't do them in a marksheet.

Phil Neal, can you extend your answer at all?

Ah but what people are likely to be asking for, and what David Potts wrote about was an assessment marksheet i.e. looking at things like predicted/estimated grades and forecasting progress 8 so that we can target interventions etc.

For this kind of analysis what we are suggesting shouldn't be as complex as the school report method as we are only dealing with teacher assessments.

The first exam entry rules will only apply when looking at progress 8 once results are received during the summer.

So does this mean if I map a load of result sets for Progress 8 that are used for teacher assessments over the term, only the first one will count? :/

If this is in response to what I said, then no.

The marksheet you create (based off David Potts example) will be looking at all the subjects for one resultset e.g. Spring 1

The progress 8 calculations you perform will be based on this point in time.

When you have more data e.g. Spring 2 you can adjust the resultset in the template to look at the new resultset.

First entry is a bit of a red herring when we are talking about assessment rather than Exam results.
