svp06 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I am looking for a new solution to desktop monitoring. Our current system cannot distinguish between words on the banned word list and words within words eg sex and Sussex and therefore comes up with way to many false positives. If I could have a cherry on top solution I would also like it to be able to desktop monitor what is written on ipads but this might be a pipe dream. Are there any products that you can recommend or would warn me off of?
Tys Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I'd personally go for Impero. It's what we use here and at several other sites that I support. Fantastic bit of kit. 1
The_IT_Guy Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) We are trialling impero at the moment and really impressed. Costs a lot so might be a pipe dream for us but you can also monitor ipad screens using it. Don't think it picks up keywords on iPads but it at least allows you to see the screens. The keywords works really well on computers screenprinting it automatically. Edited March 19, 2015 by The_IT_Guy Clarifying point and more information 1
Tys Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Definitely does do keywords - check advanced policies, I think that's where we have it set up. 1
tmoon-mint Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 One major flaw with Impero for monitoring iPads, one that was enough to make me look elsewhere. If the children are smart enough to close the Impero app running in the background then that's your ability to monitor them gone. Wont be long until the vast majority figure this out. 1
svp06 Posted March 20, 2015 Author Posted March 20, 2015 Yes I doubt it would take them long to close the Impero app, have you come up with any alternative products?
