Currently I have 5 domains with 2 mailboxes hosted with 1&1 (nothing fancy just POP/IMAP).

I am tempted to moved to Office 365 due to a number of issues, but what I want to know is if I move my domain over I know I will pay for each mailbox but I have 3 redirects going to 1 mailbox can I still do that or will I be charged more?

Also can I still have POP/IMAP access or is it all Exchange?

By the way this is for home.

You can have multiple email addresses assigned to one mailbox. So you wouldn't need to have separate mailboxes using seperate licences.

Also can I still have POP/IMAP access or is it all Exchange? - Yep

Spot on. I've been looking at mail hosting else where and Office 365 seems cheapest, I've been with 1&1 for years and I think time to break part and go with a bit more reliable and flexible service. Sods law I've just paid my mail up for another year but gives me chance to get sorted.

Does solve another issue too, think I'll look at Exchange Online (Plan 1) and go with that. Didn't want to but suppose an extra £20 a year does not come to much.

Cheers for that, will have a play in the admin centre and get one ordered up.

Right going to get signed up tonight, had enough with 1&1.

I am not up on email services but if I have a SPF record setup for my office 365 will this reduce any spam been sent from me unless my account gets compromised? If so can I do this with Office 365?

Yes you can do this. Office 365 has a handy tool and gives you the exact records to put in your DNS. It will even check them to see if they are entered correctly.

Will have a gander. I signed up and moved the records over on my domain and was up and running within 10 minutes. So far so good, no end of emails came flooding in once the records had swapped so think 1&1 have had a few issues!

All working ok, just been looking at the SPF side of things. Have added the record to my DNS (1&1) but I noticed in my junk mail one from [email protected] to me, I thought they would only be able to send from my domain if an approved IP as such?

Sorry bit new to SPF and new versions of exchange. Also is shows in the screen capture a number of spam, how can I check what these are?

It depends on your settings, by default it will put spam in your junk folder. So all those that are coming from to that admin email address have been filtered into your junk folder.

You can change it so it puts spam in the quarantine.

They are going into junk but not 15 today if you get me. Unless that is where other firstparts before @ is being caught and obviously these are not going in my mailbox?

Just me again, my SPF entry currently is

v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all

How do I using Office 365 only allow my mail from my domain to be sent from Office 365 if that makes sense? I presume any mail sent via any mobile devices should go via Office 365? I am just keen to protect my domain from been used for spam if any advise can be given.
