Putting DVD on server - VOB, IFO, BUP files?

Hi everyone,

 

I have been asked to put a DVD on the server so everyone can access it (The Big 13). It autoplays fine, however once I venture into the files there are just a load of VOB, IFO and BUP files there.

 

I was wondering if there was a way to get this onto the server?

You shouldn't really do this to be honest it doesn't really work, your best bet is to use a streaming server of some sort, DVD's are in the range of 4Gig size.

 

Plus make sure you are covered by the various copyright performance laws.

I wasn't aware about the copyright etc as they just wanted a quick link putting on so any staff can just access it when they need.

 

I think i'll just have to tell them it can't be done .

Copyright issues aside you could just use some software like DVDfab to convert it to a media file like a WMA, MP4 or whatever you need.

If you need to keep the menu structure then you can convert the DVD into an ISO file and use something like VLC to play it back.
