lholland421 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Hi All, I am currently testing our new file server after issues with High CPU. I have managed to lower the CPU but now when users are logging in the logins take ages. Most of the time is spent with a little box at the top left "setting up personalized settings" Any idea if this is related to the file server or something else? Anyone had this before? Thanks
Bste93 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I would first check event viewer on a machine that is taking a long time to login for profile or group policy issues. What did you do to 'lower the cpu' on your fileserver?
lholland421 Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 Disabled virtual machine Ques to lower the cpu but now when I enable it the cpu doesn't go up again. Event viewer has nothing in it.

lholland421 Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Would i run the performance analyzer on the client machine?
psydii Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Initially, as by definition you have filtered all the possible data to that relating only to things going on while a given machine is logging on.
lholland421 Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Thanks for Your help guys, Managed to sort it (touch Wood). We have been having issues with our file server and with several attempts at fixing that i ended up with 4 dns records for the file server and somehow 6 for our domain. Once i cleaned those up it seems to be working okay. Been okay since Monday morning. Thanks all
