rob998 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Hello, All of my edge switches are 2910al-48G. I'm having issues of slow network connection in one room. Having viewed the port config for the switch for the room each port is set to auto. Is this settings correct or should it be 100FDx? Here are the options I have:
Michael Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Yes - Auto basically means it'll try and connect at Gigabit if possible. If you need to restrict/reduce the speed, then set it to Auto-100. Generally speaking I'd avoid the others, unless absolutely necessary! Setting it to 100FDX is forcing the mode, not always advisable. 1

We had a series of printers a couple of years back that had a firmware bug which meant we had to force them to 100FDX to fix an issue - that took some time to find. 1
