OSX 10.10 Proxy Settings

Hey guys!

 

How do you who have deployed OSX 10.10 go about applying proxy settings to your machines? Workgroup manager doesn't seem to work and I can't see the option in profile manager!

We are using Workgroup Manager, and it's working. Not entirely sure how - we seem to be in the minority but it is functional. The server was upgraded from 10.6 all the way up in increments.

There isn't a setting but you could try custom profiles. File you need is /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist

I couldn't get it to work but maybe you'll have more luck. N.B. I took the screenshot before I deleted everything but the proxy settings.

enable auto discover on the mac client machine and then check your web filter is set up correctly. Kerberos should do the rest.

 

Profile manager is a royal pain...

terminal on / off command here

 

networksetup -setproxyautodiscovery Ethernet on
