gh256 Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 Put this in the wrong place before Hi, I have seen the following post on their forum here: http://forum.censornet.com/viewtopic.php?t=823 - I dont have a clue what it means Yet I do not know where to start at all. How do you again access to where you can edit files. Can someone help me turn user authentication off, im very new to this operating system. I managed to get the thing running and thats about it now. Please help. Thanks, Glenn (I am on the lastest Censornet open source version)
gh256 Posted December 6, 2007 Author Report Posted December 6, 2007 Some one must of done this? Please help if you can.
klawd Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 Seems pretty explanatory on that page but anyway..... Use an ssh client eg "Putty", to connect to your linux server IP over the network, or login directly from the console to your linux server as a proper user... once logged in, type su root this will ask for password, enter the root password. or, just login as root user Follow instructions on the page you posted from here on..
ChrisH Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 You will need to log onto the box as root then use a text editor to edit the files. All that guide is saying is that you are unzipping a folder and changing some lines of code in it. The commands you type in are all in bold: Rather than using the emacs editor eg emacs GetAccessLevel.c I would use nano as you should find this a little easier to use. so nano GetAccessLevel.c
ChrisH Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 Ok merged, editted an moved to *nix as I think its more of a linux question phew!
