IE crashing on proxy login

this isnt a problem across the network, but only on 2 machines.

 

The problem is occuring on 2 laptops (both Lenovo 3000 C100) and one did it on IE6, the other, more recently on IE7.

 

When the teacher opens IE, the proxy login box appears. They enter their details, but when clicking OK, IE crashes.

 

Now, this wouldnt be a major issue, however, one of the teachers is an MFL teacher, and needs access to Linguascope...and that only seems to work with IE.

 

Any ideas?
