Stanage Edge in the Peak District, Brimham Rocks near Pately Bridge in North Yorkshire

+1 for the Peak District. Excellent bouldering at Burbage not too far from Stanage. Also, you have Sheffield nearby for a bit of nightlife, oh and Wharncliffe there for a climb too, and not too far to drive to the Roaches or North Yorks in a day. Loads of pre bolted sport stuff around there too, covers all bases :)

As others have said, the Peak District is a good choice with loads of crags to choose from, although I tend to find the usual lower lying crags (Stanage, Burbage, Froggatt, Millstone etc.) a bit too warm and humid during the summer months - watch out for the midges!, and prefer to head up to the crags on Kinder or the moorland crags such as Shining Clough and make use of a cooler breeze.

North wales (in and around Llanberis / Ogwen valleys) is a good bet too for the summer, especially if fancy some multi-pitch. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, head out to the sea cliffs in Cornwall or Pembroke - both have tons of amazing climbing in stunning positions.
