jmak Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Hi All As per title.... VDSL Information (VDSL Firmware Version: 1414c3 ) Profile State UP Speed Down Speed SNR Upstream SNR Downstream 17a Showtime 8492 (Kbps) 39976 (Kbps) 168 (0.1dB) 81 (0.1dB) Server Information (Broadcom v10.08.81 ) (Sorry if table doesn'y come out properly - was going to upload screenshot, didn't work for some reason.) Playing with lovely new router which I've bought to replace nasty BT Homehub 5) and looking at line stats. Sync speed looks good, but SNR (dB) looks poor: 0.1dB. Or have I got that the wrong way round and 0.1dB is excellent. I'm getting very variable download speeds, but that could be for a number of reasons - also changed rest of network at same time. Now using Solwise 600Mb ethernet over mains and 3 x Unifi APs. Think wiring is not great, but also old house with very thick walls, so wireless networking not a goer and proper cabled LAN a right palaver. Thanks
SchoolsBroadband Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I get 0.1db snr up and down on my home DrayTek 2860 and get full speed out of the line so no problem here 1
jmak Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 Well there's summat up. I've put the home hub back in and Internet is hunky dory again. One disconnection overnight, compared to about 15/hour with the draytek. Couldn't complete a speed test with the draytek, was generally running at about 1.5 Mb/s and timing out before completing. Getting 32 across the WiFi on my iPad 2 with the BT home hub and unifi wireless
SchoolsBroadband Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Have you tried upgrading to the latest firmware?
