Job Description

A great opportunity for 1st /2nd line Support Technician/Engineer (Win 2008, XP, AD, Outlook, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP etc) to work for a leading managed service provider and be based onsite at an Academy. A varied, challenging and hugely rewarding role.

Gaia Technologies plc is a leading Managed Services provider to Education. Due to business growth we're looking to recruit additional customer facing support engineers to be based onsite at an academy as part of a technical team.

Whilst this is a technical position, the role requires the building of strong relationships with the school leadership / teaching staff and will thus suit someone that is not only passionate about ICT, but is a great communicator, has a proactive attitude, loves solving problems and ultimately gets a real buzz out of going the extra mile to delight customers and users.

The position offers the chance to use and develop a broad range of technical support skills, a good degree of responsibility within a highly supportive environment and the chance to be part of a successful company that invests in its staff and ultimately makes a very positive difference to the teaching and learning of young people.

 

Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 per annum depending on qualifications

 

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve ICT incidents in order to maintain / exceed contracted service levels.

• Regularly communicate with the users and wider Managed Service team to keep them updated and informed.

• Ensure spares are maintained to guarantee service availability.

• Assist in with implementing changes to the ICT provision in line with requests made by the customer through the Change Process.

• Understand the ICT solution delivered to the school and identify areas of improvement.

• Maintain accurate incident records.

 

The Individual

• Of graduate calibre with a track record of providing exceptional levels of technical and customer support, ideally in a SLA driven external customer / or school environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and passionate about delivering exceptional customer support.

• Able to work alone onsite and build exceptional customer relationships.

• Good breadth of 2nd line technical support experience: Win 2008, Server 2008, XP, AD, Outlook, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc.

• Sound planning, organisational and prioritising skills.

• A logical and tenacious approach to problem solving

• CompTIA, MCSA /MCP accredited

• CCNA accreditation an advantage

• Previous support experience in a school environment would be useful but isn't essential.
