Any updates on the Alpha boards, I am currently looking into having a demo of a 65" one.

 

They are coming in at around £1400 and seem like a good deal.

We had a demo of an Alpha unit a while back. Whilst it was ok, I didn't think that it was as responsive as most of the other screens on the market, and I just got some bad vibes from the guy who brought the demo unit in. He seemed a bit of a lizard tbh. A couple of days after the demo, I had arranged the demo through one of our existing suppliers and they followed up, as normal with pricing. Then, a couple of days after, I started getting calls from Alpha, trying to sell me the same screens direct for around £25 less per screen than my supplier's quote. I found them quite pushy if I'm honest, so we decided against buying them. I have a really good relationship with most of our suppliers and I realise that they have to make a bit of money to stay in business. The value add that they provide me more than covers the little bit of profit that they make and they all know that I will be as fair as I can with them. By all means, make your little bit of profit, but don't take the mickey.

I know that if I need something urgently, or need a favour, such as something delivering ahead of the purchase order number landing with the supplier, that I can pick up the phone and they will generally accommodate this for me. There have been occasions where the bursar has been on sick leave and we've had an urgent requirement. my little group of existing suppliers have always looked after me when this has happened, so I'm hardly going to screw them over to save £25 per screen when the manufacturer tries pushing them to me direct!
