nathan Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I'm new to SCCM and i'm just investigating the cost. Am i correct i would need to buy the software and then the CALS? We currently have no subscriptions to Microsoft.

tmcd35 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 The licence for the SCCM server software and the SQL server software required to run it come bundles with the client management licences, the only thing you need to purchase is the Management Licences for the desktops and servers you want to manage using SCCM. The cheapest way for getting SCCM is usually through the EES subscription. The Core Desktop Suite, which includes licences for the latest copy of Windows, Office and several CALs, includes the SCCM ML for desktop computers. Cost should be around £30 per member of staff per year. If you want to manage servers you'll still need to but those licences separately.

tmcd35 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Per Machine Management Licences are available outside of EES, no idea what the prices are, you'll best talking with your MS licencing partner. That said, especially for larger schools, EES should work out a lot cheaper over time - So long has you have significantly more computers than staff...
