Hi guys,

I have DPM 2012 set up at one of our primary schools, what Id like to do is get the tape management report set up so once a week I get a report about their overdue tapes.

what I've done so far is navigate to the SQL server reporting services via internet explorer http://server/reports

clicked on the DPMReporterDataSource page

Ive checked the credentials stored securely in the report server

entered the account I want to use and checked Use as windows credentials when connecting to the data source

Then I click test connection

it fails with the following error

[TABLE=class: msrs-normalwithmargin, width: 100%]

[TD=class: msrs-normal]

dpmadmin is the account I am logged onto the server with, so obviously there is a permissions issue somewhere, but I have no idea where to look, I feel like Im missing something obvious, but ive no idea what!

ive looked in the SQL server management studio at things like the security tab of report server and what users are in there, but I don't know if im looking in the right place with that?

ive looked at the DPM admin groups via compmgmt but I don't think that's where the problem is

im very new to DPM so im a little lost, any help would be greatly appreciated, if anyone needs any more information just let me know

thank you!

Thank you!!

turns out all I needed to do was run internet explorer as administrator, so now when I get to the reports page a site settings link exists, I click on that and on the security tab created a new role assignment and added the account that didn't have sufficient permissions, assigned it the system admin role and clicked apply, did all the stuff I did before and connection was successful!

your search hits were more successful than mine :)

thanks again :)
