Trace_*.txt Files

I am wondering if anybody can tell me why some users have a long list of files in their My Documents called Trace_*.txt

 

I would like to know what they are, where they might have come from and if I should get rid of them.

 

I suspect they may be slowing down file searches in the user areas giving the appearance that previously saved files are no long available.

 

I posted here as our file server is 2003.
