BYOD Meraki.

Hi

 

Does anyone know if it's possible to use Meraki for BYOD for free as shown here? https://meraki.cisco.com/solutions/byod or do you need the cisco hardware. I can't find any of these settings when I login to Meraki, maybe i'm looking in the wrong places or there is something I have to setup first.

 

We have Meraki set up for our school owned devices however we are considering if it's worth putting the Meraki profile on the BYOD devices, but thinking this may be more hassle than it's worth. Anyone have a solution for this?

I am pretty sure that you require the CISCO Meraki hardware aswell. I know the AP's that they offer can be used as distributors for Meraki Profiles.

 

I may be wrong though! To the best of my knowledge you cant do this with the Meraki System Manager.

You can use Meraki Systems Manager without any Meraki hardware for free: https://meraki.cisco.com/form/systems-manager-signup

There is some advantage to using Meraki APs of course, but they are not required.
