sonofsanta Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 It'll be nice to see some colour on the grid! Quite similar shades to the Williams of the 90s. The homogenisation of the noses is leaving all the cars looking a bit similar, though.
featured_spectre Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I dont mind that the cars have a similar look to them, its what is underneath that counts. I am hoping that one team has just done a trick with their cars and made such an improvement that they blow the field away (double diffuser a few years ago if anyone remembers?!) Would love to see the likes of Force India or Lotus just have such an advantage that they can wipe the floor with the rest of the pack.
JRowley Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I really dislike the McLaren, it just looks like they had no idea what they wanted to do with the livery, so did a bit of everything. Looks a mess in my view. The Sauber livery, while it's nice to see some colour its boring! Just 2 blocks of solid colour and the remnants of previews years with the white endplates.
Abaddon Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I'm all booked up for Spa this year.. camera ready, along with Admirals fold up chair etc..

apearce Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I'm surprised the Sauber is so blue and yellow - makes me think of Renault rather than a Ferrari powered team
featured_spectre Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 We can't say for certain that the sauber will be at the back of the grid. They've got reasonably good designers and they focused on this years car rather than last years, so they could well have something up their sleeve.
apearce Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Still sponsered by Chelsea FC i think It is - logo is just in front of drivers seat
featured_spectre Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Thing is even with the engines they have (not great ones) they can still pull off top finishes. With the right mods to the cars that will finish off the pack. Mercedes did it, and worked for them. Could have something we don't know about, but again, could not. But as I said, they focused on this years car so it seems likely that they'll have something up their sleeve.
Boredguy Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Well if the rumour mill can be believed, its possible that Force India might not actually make the first couple of races and that they are up for sale, and Bernie is trying to get someone else to buy Lotus as he does not like their owners.... Ah not even the first test and Bernie is creating more headaches for people
featured_spectre Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Well Bernie is a problem himself. He likes to have his fingers in all the pies so to speak and its just a hassle. He loves Ferrari so much that they get a bonus payment just for participating...no other brand gets that.
synaesthesia Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 The sauber looks HORRID! Awful colour scheme and a rubbish nose.
sonofsanta Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Can't see Ferrari hitting this target: BBC Sport - Ferrari: Italian team target two Formula 1 wins in 2015 It looks so wrong to see Vettel in Ferrari overalls. My brain keeps looking for the signs of a bad Photoshop job.
featured_spectre Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I wonder if he will have the same sort of success Schumaker did at Ferrari, but I hope he doesn't. I am wanting the underdogs to do a better job. lol
Norphy Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 He probably won't. The difference with Schumacher is that he brought his entire team in with him. Ferrari have been flailing ever since they all left.
sonofsanta Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 And today's Funniest And Most Fitting Headline award goes to... BBC Sport - Sauber: Team boss keen to make up for pointless 2014 campaign Pointless indeed.
sister_annex Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Ok going for a bit of a thread hijack... My wonderful family bought me a weekend pass for Silverstone this year for my birthday. Has anyone done a full weekend before? Accommodation wise I know hotels etc are going to be stupidly expensive so I'm just looking for other ideas on what other options are out there and what others have done before? Any help would be appreciated Thanks
featured_spectre Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I did it and went camping near to it. Found some bushcrafters near by, learnt a few cool things from them and enjoyed my time 1
synaesthesia Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Oh, go camping. I've only ever been on the Sunday VIP style, but for the money, camping will get you everything that you won't get from staying in a hotel. It may be a bit nippy, and it's likely to be damp, but the atmosphere is absolutely ruddy amazing and the other campers there are doing so because they are bonefide fans, noone doing it for the sake of it, noone that's going to get on your nerves, people with exactly the same interests. They say the atmosphere at Silverstone is by far the best in the world, so I implore you to make the most of it! 1
XiJ Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 The red bull seems to be for testing only? Seems a good attempt to hide interesting bodywork / aero devices. Not sure it will fool the really clever guys at rival teams though. Merc looks quick already....
sister_annex Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Camping... It's was amazing went in 2004 and had a great time. Oh, go camping. I will be going with someone else (not sure who yet) and haven't been camping in years but should be fun - hoping the weather is ok lol
AntJayC Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 The Merc looks good ive seen the pictures of the test at Silverstone. My friend is the IT teacher at Silverstone UTC and they where not allowed to look out of the windows on the day of the test.
Boredguy Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Test day 1 over, and quote of the day has to go to Toto who joked "You've discovered our secret project: it's Le Mans, we're doing endurance testing" Question will be if Lotus actually get their car on track before Tuesday.
Boredguy Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I stand corrected.... Lotus with Pastor made it on tract at 10:30 local time... good job from the Enstone guys to build the car in such a short time.
