We are running Windows 7 and IE11 managed via Group Policy and Policy Preferences.

When the users click on a file to download from the internet the prompt appears for the file but only has "Save/Cancel". Run has vanished.

When I remove the Policies/Preferences IE plays nicely and displayed all three options. Put it back and I'm back to Save/Cancel only. I am therefore assuming that I have done something but I can't figure out what or how.

So any ideas what or how I've done and more importantly how to undo it?

Interesting...

Though in theory everything that's needed should be installed JPG viewer, Acrobat Reader and so on.

My current guess (and at this moment it is a guess) is perhaps something to do with oddness left in the local profile on the PC, possibly if the profile existed prior to me updating IE. Works fine for some users but not others and my testing just seemed to work rather than be usefull in diagnosing the problem.

Need to delete the local profile of an affected user and see if it works fine when their profile is re-created.

All sorted when deleting and re-creating local profile. Got to be something left a bit broken in there when upgrading to IE11. Can't think what would specifically cause it but at least it's playing ball.
