MattDLEA Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Just come from a classroom where there projector has shut itself off, I turned it off and on again but its really noisy. By all acounts its been like that for a year but this is the first time its shut itself off. Its not the bulb as that got changed the other month. Just wondered is there a guide to maintanace on them, is it possible to replace the fans or what can I do? Both fans are spinning. it was manufactured 20111031 cheers MAtthew
phillyrovers Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Hi MattDLEA, The only maintenance guides we have are on our KB, however these are around good cleaning regimes and best practices: PrometheanKB (Articles: 10757 and 10869). They do not cover off replacing internal components, as this can only be carried out by approved repairers. If you think this unit might be under warranty contact our Support team via the above webpage with the serial number and give them any LED sequences that may be happening and they will be able to advise further. bossman Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 @MattDLEA: It will be a noisy fan, the bearings will be shot, only thing you can do is replace the whole fan unit which we have done on a couple of our units (Not the same as yours) you will usually find that the part is peanuts to pay for around 6 or 7 quid. If they are under warranty get them swapped out or if not I'm afraid it is down to you or your LEA if you have hardware SLA's, Good luck
