Cut and paste issues between excel and word

Hi we have office 2003 with sp2 and we have some machines and users that when they cut and past charts between excel and word they get issues that if they log on to another machine and open the doc they get a red cross in place of the chart.

 

Can anyone offer any advice and fix for this issue pls we are at the end of our tether trying to fix this.

do you paste special in word? I find it works best with a excel object. Plus you get the extra editability(is that a word )
