awebb08 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Hi, I've now got all things on my mac side of the network setup, time machine, AD and that sort of things from profile manager. The only issue I've got it com.apple.sidebar.plist ... i've set on a user how i want all the macs too look like on the sidebar by hiding all the shared items on the network. I've then exported it to profile manager by uploading it in the custom payloads, I've then gone into the plist on profile manager and disabled the certain things i want removing like Servers, back to my mac and etc. On the macs it gets downloaded by the profile which i can see in System Preferences but not applied. Am i doing something wrong ? Thanks, Awebb08
marekbrad Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 When you grabbed the plist file did you convert it to xml before uploading to profile manager? 10.4: Convert new plist files between XML and binary - Mac OS X Hints
awebb08 Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 No i didn't. I exported it from the location of the plist and then uploaded to Profile Manager where i could change the settings on it from there.
davidacland Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I've had this symptom in the past and it has been an issue with the XML its trying to push down. Profile Manager will accept it and deploy to the clients but nothing will happen. I normally get the plist file just how I want it before adding it to profile manager.
