jhothersall Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Hi wondering If someone could help me, Got 3 machines all in science with both ie11 and google chrome and windows 7 sp1. All take ages for pages to load it like for example Moodle (Bowland High) has a hyper linked whisper image. That won't load the image or will take minutes. It really weird I have change switches and still the same problem, and have machines on the same corridor working find ... Just science... Check software nothing out of the ordinary ... What do people think? Thanks James
Oaktech Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 DNS issue: long lookup? have you done a dnsflush? What does the ping to the site come back at?
jhothersall Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 Can't ping it is blocked by the filter but dont dns flush ect. still not working it really usual. Thanks James
CHR1S Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 FWIW its a DNS issue, I would - Take a science PC and try in a port known to be working. Vice versa - to rule out any weird network topology, VLAN? Report back
Oaktech Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 If you NS lookup, what length of time does the server take to respond? Is there any chance these machines have ended up n some sort of filtering group on their own? Have you tried different browsers? Have you tried using the machine in a physically different location to ensure it's not a cable/port issue? If you can use firefox you can use the developer tools and then the network tool to analyse what is taking the time to load? Might not fix it, but might you some insight into what is going on.
jhothersall Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 Fixed it was a simple run of netsh winhttp reset proxy
