Latest Java Blocking Internal URLs

Hello

 

If anyone can help with the following it would be appreciated!

 

having installed the latest version of Java (version 8 Update 25) the 'medium' setting has been removed and you can only select High or Very High.

 

All my internal switches run a Java script to save the configuration settings to the switches.

With previous versions I could change the security settings to medium and then when I went to save the configuration I could tick the box to always trust and run the application.

 

However with the latest version I can no longer save any switch configurations as it comes up with your security settings have blocked the application.

 

I am aware of the exception list but I believe it doesn't accept wild cards such as http://10.* so entering 40+ switch IP URL;s is not an option.

Out of interest does a newer firmware not fix the Java issue or remove it? I know older hp switch firmware had Java in it but they took it out in newer versions so we upgraded and Java be gone 😀

 

Just wish others would rid the Java from it looking at you EMC for Unisphere

Its a shame there isnt new java free firmware for the older 2600 series switches (that I know of) I have the same issue. Putty works though!

Yeah it's just easier to use the GUI than command line!

My older D-Link switches use Java to save the configuration but the newer ones don't so guess i'll just have to downgrade Java to get the medium level back!
