Had a look at elite ( still not sure) though I have a joystick . in tescos I picked up skyrim, titanfall but dont know what games I would like? Any ideas something thats not going to be stupidly hard and put me off PC Spec Intel Xeon w355- 3.07 12 Gig Ram ATI Radion HD5450 1GB
3s-gtech Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 (edited) Your graphics card puts a stopper on what you will be able to play, it's a low end model from several years back. The rest will be fine, but you'll need to upgrade it beforehand unless you just want to play casual stuff. Otherwise, get Steam installed and check out the current sale. You'll find plenty to enjoy for little outlay! Edited December 20, 2014 by 3s-gtech
MattDLEA Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Just casual stuff yeah, would space engineers be ok or what's relatively good on steam that you'd say go with
abillybob Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Metal Gear Rising in the steam sale is VERY good. One of the best games I ever played in a while imo. It's only around £3 on steam sale.
A_Brangwyn Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 you should check out game dev tycoon and insurgency on steam, neither require particularly great hardware (game dev in particular) and both are pretty good
DONINOZ Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 2 games you might want to avoid are War Commander and Alpha -Wars. Both are VERY expensive and will drain your bank account. War Commander is also very time consumming forcing you play almost 24/7 just to keep up. Alpha-Wars, on the other hand is a rigged game and moderators and developers are given free resources to play against you forcing you to spend BIG if you want to get anywhere in the game. NOT a game you can play for free! Go to play station or X-BOX and play online with these...buying one of these consoles will be cheaper in the long run and online games are free
haldarulon Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Hi mattdlea how did you get on over Xmas? You probably played titanfall a bit, I did with a 5500 with low settings. Even managed to play Ryse SOR, but bought Elite and now i ended up buying an r9 290 so i can ramp up the settings! if you didn't upgrade your card and fancy some online gaming fast and frantic I suggest Counterstrike, looks a little dated but your card should be able to run this at a pretty good res!
LiamH Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Xcom is a good call. would also recommend some of the older RPG's that should play okay, Knights of the old republic 1/2, mass effect 1/2/3 should be okay, Elderscrolls, dragon age origins (might struggle with dragon age : inquisition )
haldarulon Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I so want to play RPGs! problem I get is time! usually I may get the odd hour in the evening and then the RARE! all day saturday when the other half is out shopping. used to love diablo!
MattDLEA Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 Never got one in the end. Ended up watching tutorials on youtube

That's the good thing about the Old Republic/Dragon Age/Mass Effect games, they can be played real time or paused in combat to issue orders. So even if you have a distraction you can pause it mid fight. You might struggle with not getting gripped by the story and the "just one more mission..." trap
haldarulon Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 old republic it is then... another one to add to my 100+ steam list
