One of my schools has a website with a twitter feed on just using the twitter widget.

Turns out someone has retweeted one of their tweets ( cant be bad can it?) however this retweet as appeared on the feed and when you click on it you go to this persons twitter feed which has swearing on ( different tweet).

Is there a way to stop people retweeting or stop it appearing on feeds?

They have tried making it protected. However that means if your not a friend then you cant see the tweets at all and they dont appear on the website homepage.

I don't think this is possible for now using the official Twitter widget. You will probably be able to find a suitable 3rd party widget for your site that offers more control over what is displayed though.

Also be careful when you reply to a tweet. This appears on our website so I dont do it.

Edit - change the password to the account too, inform only those that need to know.

Thanks I didnt think it was possible.

Im also assuming that even if i found a 3rd party wordpress plug-in ( last time i looked they were all either rubbish or widgets rather then enbadable in the page) to only show original tweets on the twitter site retweets would be shown
