I am trying to win the bursar onto my side of thinking when it comes to print management as I like the ease of use papercut has so I am trying out all the features in more depth at the moment. The bursar has seen papercut in action and liked the papercut balance window which displays on users screens.

I am currently testing it but I have run into a major problem with our environment and this little program.

We don't allow students to see the icons in the taskbar next to the clock (its set via group policy). I have got the balance window to show when students log in but if they were to close the balance window, there is no way of getting it back as the process is still running when you try to re-run the program.

I was wondering if anyone has managed to configure this balance window so when a user tries to close it, it doesn't close, surely there has to be a way to do this.

Thanks

Can't help with the balance window, but could you put a link to the User summary website (the page that appears when details is clicked) somewhere handy? When SSO is set up it would show their balance + history & loads more.

I think ive found a way to bodge what I want to do but its not ideal.

Ive got a VBS script with forces the process pc-client.exe to end and then runs pc-client.exe again. This is set in scheduled tasks through Group Policy and runs every 10 mins when the user is logged in so if a user was to close the balance window 10 mins later it would pop up again.

Papercut have been informed and they are coming back to me with what they might be able to do.
