Server Recommendation

Been looking at HAP+ for a bit now and it's going to fit into pluging the gap in my next project pretty nicely.

 

The stupid question I'm going to ask is, is it better to host HAP+ on it's own server, a server doing other bits and pieces (wsus/WDS/SEC for example) or somewhere like the main file server?

As it is a public facing service I have it installed on its own VM (4 x cores, 2GB RAM, 40gb disk) and on its own VLAN. I'd imagine that depending on the number of your remote users there may be a fair bit of traffic so its own server may be best there again.

Don't dual role it onto an existing server if you can virtualise it, as is the general rule with most services now. It gives you much greater flexibility with fault tolerance, updating, upgrading etc. If your licensing allows, make a new one.

That's what I was thinking, I'm just half aware that my VMware cluster is rapidly approaching capacity.
