Ok, the screen res isn't going to set the world alight, but of you need a 'spare' or know someone who needs a smartphone this has a very resonable spec and could fit the bill nicely:

If someone could explain what a quad HD display with a resolution of 960 x 540 actually means it would be much appreciated :)

The Q in QHD actually stands for quarter, not quad. The step above hd should be UHD iirc, Ultra-HD

Quad HD is the same as the screen on the LG G3 ie 1440p. 4K / UHD is 2160p.

Not entirely sure where they are getting their definition for Quad HD from as it's not even 720p the minimum to be called HD.

Although besides the point it's not a bad looking phone for the price.
