Clonezilla Idiots Guide

Hi All,

 

As the title suggests. Has anyone got an Idiots guide to setting up Clonezilla Server edition for the start?

It is pretty easy to run - just boot with it in the DVD drive and follow the onscreen instructions.

Used it for years. I have never tried the autoinstalls so have always followed the prompts and the default settings on the import/export drives. Never got SSDs to work though.

Thanks for the reply, it's the Server Edition setup I am looking for, am I right in saying you mean the Live edition?

Fraid so. I haven't tried the Server Edition.

Sorry about the late reply, no sorry, it is the actual setup of the Clonezilla server it's self. We are looking into new imaging options that are free and ideally run on limited hardware as cash is tight and we don't have any decent hardware spare to install some of the more advanced software ie. WDS/MDT ect....

I run ours on a NFS share on a QNAP drive. Works a charm. Just create a NFS share and chose v1 (I think) and DHCP on the setup and upload your images to it. Pulling images is the reverse. If I could be bothered to look at the options I am sure I could automate it to the point of just chosing which image to download but with the lovely sysprep on Windows 7 I just have 2 anyway.. a office one and a classroom image...the sysprep stops at the computer name input.. oh and I have to resize the hard drive as it uses the image HD size of the cloned drive which can be a pain so I always create my master images with the smallest drives I have.
