Harry_Small_ Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Hi All. We recently solved the issue with office 2013 where the authentication box for origins.support-content.office.net.akadns.net kept appearing, however now for some reason we have a new one that keeps popping up. autodiscover.lacon-childe.org.uk. Has anyone had this issue before and solved it?
TechMonkey Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Firstly can you say how you fixed the authentication box issue? We keep having it and we think we fix it and then a few days later it reappears. With Autodiscovery, have you got any DNS entries for autodiscovery?
Harry_Small_ Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 What web filtering are you using? Smoothwall?
Harry_Small_ Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 Ok you need to go to Guardian > Under policy objects select User Defined > Authentication Exceptions In there you need to put these addresses in: origins.support-content.office.net.akadns.net office.microsoft.com odc.officeapps.live.com officeimg.vo.msecnd.net store.office.com I put all of these in and it seemed to work. Also make sure that under Web Proxy > Exceptions that the Authentication Exceptions is in the "Included categories and category groups" Hope that helped!
dapaulio Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I had the exact same issue with office 2013 with smoothwall and Harry Small's solution works however we had to make our own no authentication rule and put the addresses above in that user defined list. the difference may be down to update version between smoothwalls First Create a "No Authentication" Category under Guardian » Policy objects » Categories and add the sites above Then in Web proxy » Authentication » Exceptions include the "No Authentication" category in the policy
garethEds Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 We had this the other day - Smoothwall. Not sure what the LEA did but it was fixed a few hours after we reported it. Regards GJE
