God Damn It!

So I've spent a couple of days getting an image just right and made it on a physical machine to re-image all the computers within the school. Finally finished the image today so loaded our WDS Capture, all was working great and then it get's to around 8% while trying to create the image and just completely shuts itself down... WHY just WHY!?!?! Hopefully one of you brainiacs will know but I've been looking at this for 2 hours and I can't make sense of it, not even an error message the computer just shuts itself down!

I really need this to be ready by tomorrow so if anyone can recommend I try anything or tell me what I'm doing wrong I'll love you long time!

I have sys prep the image, I have made sure out of the box was selected and generalise is ticked, I then booted straight into WDS Capture and connected to our server via the wizard, there is also an option to save the file just in case something is wrong with the network so I have tried saving it to the D: drive itself and to a mapped share on the server both fail and the computer just turns off.

*Sigh* why isn't anything simple :mad2:

I have noticed there's an error message that comes up a split second before it shuts down although it's so quick it's impossible to read it and it doesn't happen on a certain % it just goes from whatever % earlier it went at 6 then 2 then 20? So confused right now!

are you using WDS to boot into a MDT environment or actually using WDS?

do the log files reveal anything, sounds like a step is erroring and dropping the whole process

I've had a look at the WDS event viewer log on the server and it shows nothing and yes I am actually just using WDS on it's own. :) It's always worked before never had this issue although the computer I was running it from was spinning the processor fan at a horrendous rate so I have put the Hard Drive in another machine to see if it makes any difference! Could be it was overheating or something silly! :/

have you added IE 10/11 to an image as i know there was a bug when capturing MDT images if they were installed without modding the answer file to remove a specifc IE 9 setting

I have added IE 9, could you let me know the details of what I have to do with that? I'd give pretty much anything a try I really need it up and running for tomorrow :)

Yep sorted it, seemed to be something wrong with the hardware on the one machine, it was overheating and thus shutting down. I transferred the Hard Drive to another machine a voila. :)
