Epson 455wi Auto Iris Error

Does anyone know how to repair an auto iris issue on the Epson Eb 455wi projector? We have three projectors with this same issue and don't fancy paying nearly £500 per unit for Epson to repair them.

I've tried:

• Cleaning the projector
  
• Replacing the Lamp
  
• Powering the unit on and off
  
• Calling the manufacturer and asking for advice- Advice given was that it is an auto iris issue and will need to be serviced
  

 

Anyone else experiencing this issue with this model of projector? Anyone got a fix?

I suppose if you could get to the settings menu you could just turn off Auto Iris!

 

Have Epson quoted you £500 or are you guestimating? Seems pretty high to me.

Give AV Partsmaster a go - they're my go to guys for projectors.

Thanks, unfortunately you can't get to the menu Epson quote £489.00 to be precise. Still it is very expensive. Thanks for the advice though.

Ouch! I'd definitely be giving some other repairers a ring/email to get quotes.

I think I will have to as that is ridiculous, especially as Schools have tight budgets.
