  1. I've started pushing out SharePoint team sites (Office 365) for a similar purpose to you (original thread). Each department has its own sub-site as well as a staff only file area. I've created a StaffZone sub-site which has any important documents located in it as well as a news feed for important messages. This will start cutting down all staff emails eventually. In AD I've created security groups for each department as well as all staff, all students groups. These security groups can only access and edit there own subsequent sites. The online recycle bin is a great feature as well as the version control on a document. The great thing is only an admin can delete SharePoint sites so the risk of data loss is reduced. We are starting to push out editing documents on the cloud to avoid the locked document situation departments get themselves in. So far it is positive from my perspective, although SharePoint online can be a bit fiddly and daunting at first. I hope this helps
  2. Amazing, it sounds more reliable than Meraki. I will have a look at this system tomorrow. Cheers for the reply.
  3. With the Tab Pilot MDM, can you stop students installing and uninstalling apps? Do apps install automatically when push out? I'm using Meraki at the moment and it works great for iOS devices but not so well for Android. Also, does anyone know a way to clone a master Android tablet that can be deployed to multiple tablets, in a similar fashion to Apple configurator? This is what I have been tasked with and finding it very difficult without rooting the device (voids warranty).
  4. Currently I have 44 Android tablets and I am using Meraki as the MDM to manage them. The thing I am struggling with is finding a way to backup the master tablet (create an image) and deploy its backup to the other 43 devices. I want all settings and apps to be cloned and copied to each device. Can anyone suggest a way to do this without rooting the device as that will void the warranty? All advice is welcome and I'm happy to share how I have set up my devices. Many thanks Andy
  5. Hello has anyone ever used a course management program called CourseMS? *Basically we want to create a course booking system that will allow users to select a course, set a limit on student places , give details which courses users have selected and free (if possible)? At them moment we have a Excel spreadsheet work around and using SharePoint 365 for multiple online editing, but we are having endless issues with the spreadsheet." CourseMS allows us to do the above and it is free, but there are no support forums for set up or website, only a PDF which is poorly detailed. I'm not even sure where my boss got this software from If anyone can recommend a better solution or advice for this one I am all ears Andy
  6. I had the same experience here and I received that same email whilst trying to get all of my outstanding issues resolved. It took 3 months to fix the issue created with upgrading to their infinity software. I was calling 7 times a day and sending an endless amount of emails. We will be looking for an alternative solution this summer.
  7. I think I will have to as that is ridiculous, especially as Schools have tight budgets.
  8. Thanks, unfortunately you can't get to the menu Epson quote £489.00 to be precise. Still it is very expensive. Thanks for the advice though.
  9. Does anyone know how to repair an auto iris issue on the Epson Eb 455wi projector? We have three projectors with this same issue and don't fancy paying nearly £500 per unit for Epson to repair them. I've tried: Cleaning the projector Replacing the Lamp Powering the unit on and off Calling the manufacturer and asking for advice- Advice given was that it is an auto iris issue and will need to be serviced Anyone else experiencing this issue with this model of projector? Anyone got a fix? Andy
  10. Have you tried installing the software on a laptop/netbook and trying a direct VGA connection to the projector (avoiding the faceplate)? If the projector stops flickering, it could be a lost connection on your PC. We had an issue here with a similar model of projector and it turned out to be a fault VGA port on the PC. Not saying your issue would be the same but it is worth ruling it out. Kind regards, Andy
  11. We had a similar issue in our school with the Epson EB 455wi Projector and it turned out to be the Cat5 USB extender (as mentioned by education_AV), after swapping it for the active USB extenders the problem vanished.
