Help me solve this problem on GPO please!

I'm trying to deploy Lego We do education to the children netbooks. I converted the exe into the msi. But when I come to editing the gpo. I cant see the other options. They are all blocked out. Any ideas on how to see them and edit them. I'm logged in as the administrator as well!

What options are you after? As some for example Publish are only available if you deploy it to Users not Computers.

Oh, Well I'm new to the whole thing. I was reading a guide and they have screenshots. on there it says assigned under the software settings

What I mean though is what setting is it you're after? In regards to the greyed out ones.

Then it'll need to be under user settings not computer. Computer settings will deploy the program when no-one is logged on.

 

Is there any specific reason you want it at logon though? And not just when the computer starts up

Best practise (Or normal practise should I say) is to install at startup rather than logon.

what youve got looks fine for install at startup assuming the msi works (converting exe to msi can be a black art) if youve never done gpo software deploy id get a known working msi first and try that something like acrobat reader or paint.net where its well documented

You would go to Computer > Policies > Software and load the package there.

I would highly recommend you run the GPO on a test machine before pushing it live - it's just good practice to ensure it behaves as you expect.
