sparkeh Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 So I started up my Win 10 machine this morning and it ran through the setup process as it does when a new build is ready to install. Checked the build number and I'm still on build 9879 but noticed that some things have changed. Just has a quick look and the battery icon in the tray had changed and it appears (from memory) that the 'PC settings' have had new things added? Anyone else had this today? There's nothing on the Windows Insider blog?
sted Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 i think i saw it mentioned on twitter/facebook this morning/last night but its been weeks since i booted my win10 vms
sparkeh Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 Ok seen a few bits about it but not entirely clear what the update contains. Someone mentioned a fix for the blue\black screen on wake up (which I have been having).
LeMarchand Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) Didn't get that, but did get the black screen - so maybe it was about to do something. Whatever happened messed up my RSS ticker plus (probably unconnected) the new version of Firefox seems to have lost it's search bar since. Did a system restore (took an age) and the only NEW update showing is for Flash in IE. The others were the black screen one (which I'm declining as it seems to affect a couple of one of my apps) from the 12th and kb3019269 from the 24th. Edited November 26, 2014 by LeMarchand
sparkeh Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 @LeMarchand what release stream are you on? It appears the release was for 'Fast' only.
LeMarchand Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Fast. AFAICT the update on the 24th was "fast" people only. Maybe I should reapply it!
sted Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 (edited) booted up my primary 10vm (its set to be like my personal machine even logs in with my ms account so same wallpaper as my pcs) and its now running build 9879 but ive literally just booted it up after updating and watching the we are getting things ready screens just seen in ie12 you can send ms a smile or a frown about websites lol Edited November 27, 2014 by sted
Patrick Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 It's probably just a more stable release of the update "Fast" people got. I doubt we'll see a new build until the new year now.
