Hi,

We've just upgraded server memory and resmon is showing only 23% used physical memory.

Before the upgrade it was reaching 98%.

Yet I'm still getting quite a few hard faults a second which I thought you only got when it's paging?

So why would it be paging when so much memory is free ?

Are there any utils I can run to check the health of the server, esp the new memory to make sure its good ?

E.g. could a DIMM be dodgy or maybe a connection as server motherboard was very dusty?

How large is the page file?

Says 24566MB and "automatically manage paging file size for all drives" ticked

After I installed new RAM the server wouldn't boot on first attempt: just several beeps and nothing on monitor.

Tried again and it booted ok!

Also couldn't login "locally" this morning: the keyboard and mouse plugged into the server are not responding.

However I've managed to get in via mstsc and checked administrative events for errors: nothing unusual.

Resmon still showing the odd hardfault and memory has crept up to 47% used of the 24GB installed (mainly sqlsrvr.exe)
