GREED Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 BBC News - Breached webcam and baby monitor site flagged by watchdogs While reminding a bunch of geeks about password security is a little silly, a worthy reminder if any of us own such devices!
Alkaline Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Why would you have cctv anyway, outside yes, but inside?????? unless you are rich.
LeMarchand Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Why would you have cctv anyway, outside yes, but inside?????? unless you are rich. We were thinking of putting cams in to keep an eye on the ageing parents who are a 4 hour journey away.
GREED Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 Why would you have cctv anyway, outside yes, but inside?????? unless you are rich. Banks? Hotels? I could name many reasons! For personal use yes, I think the much bigger high profile case is baby monitors
MatthewL Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 It's all common sense, like it the way they call it hacking, its just exploiting ID10T's who cannot change passwords. You only have to IP scan a range and see the amount of stuff out there and look up default passwords, its quite amazing how lapse some people are yet everything else is lapse! Also CCTV is a good idea with it been so cheap to keep an eye on elderly parents, wish we had done it with my Nanna and its a deterrent to people going in i.e. carers as some have been known to help themselves.
