Am I the only one who finds this piece of software a bug ridden, crash prone, memory leak happy, slow, unreliable mess or am I doing something wrong?

For example, trying to create and/or edit an update baseline. It will randomly hang the interface, take up an entire CPU core and eat memory at an alarming rate

You know, I never thought I'd find an interface that would make me think "Hmm, I miss Virtual Machine Manager". But with the web interface on vSphere 5.5, I think I've found it

The vSphere instances are using SQL Express, I'm pretty sure they're grabbing what they can.

 

Refactoring the virtualisation here is on a very long to-do list.

I may be old fashioned but give me a compatible, kept up to date Client or administration tool to do my job with no reliance on Java or ANY plugin's it wil be a much better place to be I don't care if I have to install the client on my PC. Once everything upto HTML 5 it may be a diferent story however.

 

The good thing about vSphere at the moment is at least for most things you can still use the client although they will for sure remove that soon

For the moment. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that the next version of vSphere would require the use of the web interface. Even with ESX 5.5, although you can use the old fashioned console full functionality of vSphere isn't exposed through it. You have to use the flash interface.

 

Whoever at VMware thought that was a good idea needs thumping.
