[sims] Permissions to create marksheets

Heya,

 

We're moving to SIMS to do assessment and SLT want to be able to create marksheets, which permissions do i need to use to allow them to create them?

Assessment operator should be enough but if not assessment manager

It depends how much access they need/want.

 

All permissions for AM7 are under "Core System > Assessment Manager"

 

You need to decide whether to give them "Edit (Own)"; they can create the related items and edit those that they have created; or "Edit (all)"; they can edit any related item.

 

For simply creating marksheets (that is, adding them to templates) - look under "Templates" folder.

 

If they'll need to create Aspects to go with them, also look under the "Aspects" folder.

 

If they're creating aspects, they may also need to create Gradesets - you know where this is going! Unfortunately, Gradesets doesn't have an Own/All option, not sure why. Means they either have access to everything or nothing where they're concerned.

 

Best thing to do is sit down with them and whoever usually sets up your marksheets, as they'll be able to give you an idea how much access they'll need to be able to do what they want to.

 

I definitely would not give them access to everything unless absolutely necessary - one member of SLT "playing" with a template can really ruin your Data Manager's week!
