Does anyone put together a documentation for the students to how to login to on the windows network and save to their work to home drive etc?

Cheers

The only documentation that I provide to the ICT staff is a list of students that have a login name different from our standard layout. It is left to the teaching staff to demonstrate how to log into the network and how and where to save. The teaching staff also hand out our AUP for the student and parent to sign, these then come back to us via the class teacher. Edited by stitch

All the teaching staff are expected to be able to demonstrate to a class how to log in and save work although formally they aren't instructed until their first ICT lesson obviously they may have to use the system in lesson before that. New staff are told in their induction pack to present themselves to us for that sort of training.

We don't have any formal documentation describing it.

We do provide written instruction on joining the wifi network, setting up activesync and webdav access to the fileservers on their devices though - we also do that for them on request if they can't follow the pictures and arrows..

We give each student a 'Student Handbook' on their first day and we have a page in there with ICT info and AUP. We include their username format, email address format, where to save their work, how to access shared drives, how to access stuff from home etc. The students have an hour with their form tutor at the start of the day and they're asked to talk this through with the students. We've just started to do short instructional videos too and put links to them on the VLE.
