Removing the 'directory' from Google Contacts for pupils using GAFE.

One of my primary schools has been using Google Apps for Ed for a few years but only with the staff and now they would like to get the older pupils (y6) using it. The ICT coordinator has been testing and has asked if it is possible to give the pupils access to email but remove or hide the directory listing that lists all the staff emails from the contacts page.

Is this possible?

Another few issue I can think of would be the fact that auto-complete would list staff emails anyway and the fact that the entire Google system is built based on sharing by email address.

In the management dashboard for the google apps domain you should be able to select which OU's have access to which google apps. You can restrict the directory to just the OU containing staff accounts.

directory is not an app in itself but is part of the contacts app. When a 'test' pupil clicks directory while in the contacts app it lists all the domain email accounts.

EDIT: What this school want, is to hide or remove the 'directory' link, but removing access to the contacts app might be the next best thing.
