Having been a Sky customer for many years I never had a problem averaging speeds of around 6mbps across multiple devices in the house normally 1mbps each device due to due to being messed about after a house move I just went from Sky Fiber to Virgin Fiber and have seen a huge increase in speeds, Virgin IMO is far better for net.

Virgin's bandwidth policies would drive me crazy.

Word of mouth mainly; I find providers vary so much by area I'm better off asking the locals who they use and if they're happy. Tricky as I don't know many round my way and those I do are generally 60+ and not fussed how fast their BB is, but I'm sure a few chats down the local pub will turn something up!

ISP's are very very variable by area, it all depends on the oversell of the local exchange. Sky in some areas is amazing as its not oversubscribed but in others its a nightmare (I had an overloaded sky exchange for 6 months before they upped their bandwidth) and I hear exactly the same about Virgin tbh as they oversubscribed areas too.

That is the issue we had and VM did not advertise or advise us of this before or during the process of subscribing to VM and after we had gone with them it was too late as tried lots , had lots of engineers out and after going through all of the different routes, the period to cancel had already been gone 3 times over so had to stay with them

Best thing I ever did was to leave VM. Now with BT using copper and have a slower speed down from 20Mb with VM to 17Mb with BT but the throughput is higher and I don't get buffering with youtube.

If you are receiving a very low connection speed (6Mbps is very low for Sky's Fibre package, though I just noticed your downspeed is connected at 25457Kbps, or 25Mbps which seems reasonable) then you just need to get in contact with Sky and they will perform a line test, or retrain the line.

The biggest probably that you are likely to encounter however is BT Openreach coming and breaking something while working on someone else's connection. I was disconnected for 6 weeks when they decided to unplug me from the fibre board in the box outside to give it to someone else to fix their problem, only by doing so they somehow inexplicably ran out of points on the board, so they had to wait to install an additional board before I could be reconnected. Sky were as apologetic as they could be and refunded me for the time I was disconnected me and gave me a discount for 6 months afterwards.

This sort of problem has happened to me three times, though it's normally resolved in a couple of days and is entirely down to incompetence by BT Openreach.

Thanks everyone. I called Sky last night (had been waiting to do a speed test via a wire but didn't bother in the end). The answered incredibly fast (I was shocked) and ran a line test which came as a fail so they're sending out an engineer in the next 72 hours who will call and let me know what's going on. They've also suspended billing for 5 days as they can't charge once they know there's a fault. She said the absolute minimum I should get is 15Mbps (I guess that's their 'promise'?). We've not had over 10 for a few months now which is frustrating, didn't think to call until it got to 2!
