dweiler Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 New problem with Dell OptiPlex 755 workstations after deployment No response from keyboard or mouse. I am using MDT 2013 with WDS I get through wizard fine and deployment seems to go well but no keyboard or mouse. I am deploying windows 8 x64 using only 755 drivers cab. I have tried to use older drivers and rebuild litetouchx64.wim. I have also looked in setupact.log only error is... Input Install: Not a PS2 device.. Not sure what I am looking for in dism log. Besides rebuilding a image not sure where to go from here. I also deploy All IN One OptiPlex 9010 9020 and Latitude 5530 and 5540 with no issues. I am leaning towards it being a usb 2.0 driver issue but need help.... Thank you, Dave
Asgard Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 We had a similar issue with Win7 and Optiplex755 ... Our first workaround was to unplug them and put it in a different USB port and after few minutes it worked - After it had took the time to re detect the hardware. The long term solution was to turn off checking windows updates for the drivers for the keyboard and mouse. 1
dweiler Posted October 28, 2014 Author Posted October 28, 2014 jszkudlapski Thank you for your response, I had tried that even with different mouse keyboard, front usb, rear usb, nothing not even the light for the optical mouse. at first I thought it might be a usb 3.0 driver being used but I do not think this is the case. I did capture my image from a different model but sysprep should have removed all drivers..
