darknova Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Hi All, I would love to provide a feature where I could map network drives using moodle. I've looking into Samba Web Client... but this seems to be a per share basis. What I'm looking for is a free Ranger-Outpost, for moodle.... How do other schools share their networks shares over the net? Regards DK
CyberNerd Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 what about sslexplorer ? it's not exactly moodle integrated.
maniac Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 We use SSL explorer here for staff file access and webVPN to allow them to login to a terminal server from home. We are going to introduce it for students as well. We;ve found it to be quick, easy to use and reliable, and it integrates nicely with Active Directory meaning the students in our school will use the same usernames and passwords for Moodle and SSLexplorer. See our front page here https://www.nbc.medway.sch.uk:49302 Mike.
strawberry Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 i've kind of done this. ON moodle you can have site files. Create this folder and then navigate to it in explorer. I then use a batch script to copy the contents of our public drives into it.
lasercat Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I'm about to try out SSL Explorer. Tom's Netwroking has a good guide here: http://www.tomsnetworking.com/2006/07/21/diy_ssl_vpn_with_ssl_explorer_pt1/ But I'm going to try out a linux based VMWare appliance : http://www.vmware.com/appliances/directory/543 Hope this helps someone
