Sam_Brown Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 A few pieces of software we can't install silently so looking to try creating some MSIs form them. Does anyone have any recommendation on MSI creation software at all and best practices? I know there are a lot of different tools out there but is there a definitive "best" one at the moment?
mikkydoos Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 The best freebie out there is 'Advanced Installer'. Its totally awesome and works every single time... Free Windows Installer - MSI Installer Tool
jaf Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Yes agreed about Advanced Installer. I also use "Appdeploy repackager" as a last resort, although be careful with this as you can get a lot of messy MSIs with unwanted registry information and files unless you know exactly what needs to be in the MSI! If you let us know what software you are having trouble with we might be able to help - most educational software I have come across already comes with a silent installer or switches for a silent install.
Sam_Brown Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 It's software for our new interactive screens. The software is called Alpha Teach.
